Earn Credentials That Matter

Professional recognition isn’t given.

It’s earned.

APNPI’s internationally recognized professional pathway is designed to help newborn photographers build knowledge, demonstrate excellence, and earn the trust of the families they serve.

Whether you’re just beginning your career or pursuing the highest levels of professional achievement, every credential builds on the last, creating a clear pathway for lifelong professional growth.

1. Safety Awareness Course

Every Professional Journey Begins with Safety

The safety of every newborn always comes first.

Our Safety Awareness Course provides the essential foundation every newborn photographer should understand before pursuing professional recognition.

While this course is not a certification, it prepares photographers with the knowledge needed to build safe, responsible practices.

2. Qualified Newborn Photographer (QNP)

Earn the Trust of Your Clients

The Qualified Newborn Photographer (QNP) Certification is earned through demonstrated knowledge, professional ethics, and a commitment to newborn safety and technical excellence. It provides parents with confidence and photographers with professional credibility.

For parents, it provides confidence.

For photographers, it provides credibility.

3. Accreditation

Become a Recognized Specialist

Once you’ve earned your QNP Certification, you can pursue accreditation in your area of expertise.

Accreditation recognizes exceptional technical skill and artistic excellence within a specific photographic discipline.

Accreditation can be earned in the following categories:

Maternity

Newborn – Naturally posed newborns.

Newborn Lifestyle – In home.

Newborn Environmental – Outdoors

Accreditations are earned by submitting a portfolio in a given category and having it judged by a live panel of judges.  Judging events are exciting to watch and always full of learning opportunities to guide a photographer in their next steps of their artistic journey.

4. Craftsman & Master

The Highest Levels of Professional Recognition

Craftsman and Master Designations celebrate photographers who have demonstrated exceptional artistic achievement, sustained professional excellence, and meaningful contributions to the profession.

These honours are earned over years of dedication and represent the highest level of recognition within APNPI.

Where Will Your Journey Take You?

Whether you’re earning your first professional credential or working toward Master Designation, APNPI provides a pathway that grows alongside your career.

Start where you are.

Continue learning.

Earn recognition.

Build trust.

Become the professional you aspire to be.

Accreditation is achieved by:

  • Successfully completing the APNPI Safety Course.
  • Successfully holding your QNP Certification.
  • Submitting 12 images in a chosen category to an APNPI Judging Panel.

Holding accreditation demonstrates the member as a specialist in his or her chosen field.
